its going to be the same in a couple months i bet
i dunno who was 1st with the apps, i want to say facebook. but its mad gay.
and now both of them have all these add notifications about your friends....i have 4k+ friends on myspace,(not braggin at all btw half the people dont even talk to me) i really dont need to see all that going on. Facebook is bareable but its still annoyin.
i use both to promote my shit for free amongst the millions of others.
myspace is definitly easier for an artist, kneegro had to photocopy ID and shit to get a music page on facebook....retarded.
you can reach alot more people on myspace, but it gets a little excessive i admit. straight spamming sometimes.
Facebook is alot more personal, find old classmates that you talk to the day you add them, then forget again. Myspace makes you feel mad guilty for trying to find someone you used to know lol
fareal i want to cancel both
but id be an idiot if i did.

new gear
just copped these over the weekend. Event TR8's are nice and flat, nice bass response to em so i can actually hear how loud that bass is hittin.
they sound 10 times better than those stupid alesis mk's! they are collecting dust now
shout to jay for hookin it up!
i also have a pair of krkv4's i use as monitor b but ive had them for a minute. they dont do too well for bass obviously but when you want to get another perspective and be able to hear everything in the mix, they get the job done

for the coffee table and the studio
now the ? remains.....is it snitchin?
Hip hop in the U.S. may have hit a lull, but it's far from dead. At home, hip hop fanatics have started to dig deeper for rarer singles from the late 80's and early 90's, and overseas it's still huge. Take Japan for example, There, it's respected to the fullest. So, leave it to them to compile this huge hip hop sample reference book for all your digger needs. They've literally done all your research for you in this huge 241 page dictionary of hip hop artists, organized alphabetically by name, track name and the songs sampled for the track. Includes all big name hip hop artists from 2 Live Crew to Z-Trip, including even hard to find, obscure artists like Siah & Yeshua Dapo to Kartoon Krew. It even has dictionary style printing on the sides for quick flipping by alphabet. Yes it's all here in this one inexhaustible book, because you can't really take the internet with you to records stores(yet). Although it's an awesome reference, I'll warn you that the inside cover does say, "All data are not necessarily accurate." Don't fret though, I feel they threw that in there so some nerd doesn't 'cause a fuss 'cause one sample is wrong. For the most part, it's pretty spot on. Also has a list of the ten commandments of digging on the back, in broken english, "Don't forget to keep turning on your equipments." They do give you some good tips like, "Go through the records stores A-Z, even the boxes on the floor," this has always been a secret of mine. But they forgot the most important rule to digging, "Never bring your girlfriend with you." It's like the girl equivalent of a guy gettin' dragged into Sephora.

Freddy Fresh brings us the companion to his handy Sampling Dictionary reference guide, once again with no frills, just the facts ma'am. Whereas the Sampling Dictionary listed its entries by sampling artist, the Re:Sampling Dictionary gives it to you in reverse, using the format "Sampled Artist / Sampled Track / Artist's Name / Track Title." (For example, "Luther Ingram / "To The Other Man" / Ghostface Killah / "Whip You With A Strap.") The book is layed out in clean, easy-to-read columns, and covers everyone from Booker T. & The MGs to Cake, O.C. Smith to the Osmonds. Softcover, 250+ pages (with over 15 pages for James Brown alone!).

The Boombox Project

"Photographer Lyle Owerko recently compiled a series of photographs which document numerous different boomboxes which were such a popular commodity in the 80s and 90s. A staple amongst any musically driven subculture, the boombox on the shoulder would become an image ingrained in the minds of many for generations to come. Fifteen different boomboxes are seen from popular brands to now defunct unknown brands. The feature can be seen over at Owerko.com, click Portfolios and then The Boombox Project."
